Item Creation/Update Feed

Batch create or update items based on specified subcategories.

Each subcategory, there’s a category schema that needs to be followed (different subcategory requires different property input per item). You can download these schema(s) by the following methods:

  • Download Feed Schema
  • There are two options available for downloading the schemas for different sub-categories:
    • Newegg seller portal feed schema download, go to Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Items > Batch Item Creation/Update > Download File Template tab > Action: “Batch Item Creation” > Select “Extensible Markup Language(*.xml)” > Select “Industry” > Click “DOWNLOAD FILE TEMPLATE”

Action No String Specify the action you would like to perform, types of action:

Create Item: Create a new product that is not currently in your item list.

Update Item: Update the information of a product already in your item list (does NOT include updating of pricing fields: Currency, MSRP, MAP, Selling Price, Shipping, Inventory and Activation Mark)

Update/Append Image: Upload additional image(s) of the product or overwrite existing image(s).

Replace Image: Replace all of your existing images with the image URL’s provided in this file. When this action is selected, the system will only process the Item Images field and Activation Mark; all other information, including Selling Price, will be ignore.

IMPORTANT: If no action is selected, by default, system will use Create Item action.
SellerPartNumber Yes String A seller-defined unique identifier for an item.

An alphanumeric string, max 40 characters including space.

Note: Once an item is created, this information cannot be updated.
Manufacturer Yes String The manufacturer name for an item.  This is pre-defined in Newegg system.

Request to add manufacturer(s) send to Newegg Content Team at mktp.content@newegg.com.

ManufacturerPartsNumber Yes, if UPC code is not provided String Manufacturer defined unique identifier for an item.

An alphanumeric string, max 40 characters including space.

# / ISBN is not provided		 String A unique Universal Product Code (UPC) (12 characters only) or European Article Number (EAN)(13 characters only) for an item.

RelatedSellerPartNumber No String If the item is a variant of another (“related”) item with its own seller part #, list the related item’s seller part # here.

WebsiteShortTitle Yes String The short, easily identifiable item name for an item. It will be used as the main name for your product on all store pages, sales orders and receipts.

Max characters: 200
BulletDescription Yes String Enter concise descriptions of selected product features or functions which will be listed by bullet point below the website short/long title on the product page. Use separator “^^” to separate different points.
Max characters: 1000, including spaces and separators.NO HTML is allowed.
ProductDescription Yes String The detailed description to be featured on the item page. This description should state the features and functions of the product.  Should be the same for all items in product family.

Max characters: 4000

Accepted HTML tags for Product Description fields: <ol>,<ul>, <li>,<br>, <p>, <b>, <i>, <u>, <em>, <strong>, <sub>, <sup> and <img>
ItemLength No Decimal Item’s shipping length in inches, value only, do not include the metric unit.

Format: Two digits after decimal point.  Example: 1.00
ItemWidth No Decimal Item’s shipping width in inches, value only, do not include the metric unit.

Format: Two digits after decimal point.  Example: 1.00
ItemHeight No Decimal Item’s shipping height in inches, value only, do not include the metric unit.

Format: Two digits after decimal point.  Example: 1.00
ItemWeight Yes Decimal Item’s shipping weight in pounds, value only, do not include the metric unit.

Format: Two digits after decimal point.  Example: 1.00
ItemCondition No String Available values for Item Condition:

New: Product will ship as received by the manufacturer, sealed, with all advertised components, and with the manufacturer warranty.

Refurbished: Product was tested and repaired as required to meet the standards of the refurbisher, which may or may not be the original manufacturer. Any exceptions to the condition of the item outside the manufacturer’s information
should be provided in the listing, up to and including warranty details.

Additional values for Newegg.com platform:

UsedLikeNew: Product has been opened, possibly used but is in perfect factory condition with no signs of cosmetic or functional defect. Product includes warranty, and accessories found with the original product. Product may or may not be in the original packaging.  Returned items with minor packaging defects fall under this category.

UsedVeryGood: Product has been opened, may show slight signs of use and cosmetic blemish, and may be missing minor accessories, but remain in excellent condition. Product does not come with warranty unless stated otherwise in product description.

UsedGood: Product has been used, may show clear signs of use and may be missing minor accessories, but remain in good condition. Product does not
come with warranty unless stated otherwise in product description.

UsedAcceptable: Product shows clear signs of use, cosmetic defect, and may be missing minor accessories and manual, but remain in working condition.  Product does not come with warranty unless stated otherwise in product description.
Functionality issues beyond signs of use should be disclosed in product description.

PacksOrSets Yes Integer Identify the package count of this product. All products in a pack or set will have matching item and condition.

ItemPackage No String Item’s package is either “Retail”or “OEM” packaging. Default will be set to “Retail” if no value specified.
ShippingRestriction No String Certain item’s have shipping restrictions where the item cannot be shipped through air.

If the item you are creating has such restriction, set value to “Yes”. Otherwise, set it to “No”. If not included/blank/null, the default is “No”.
Currency No String The form of money for all price related fields.

Available values:

USD: For Newegg.com and Neweggbusiness.com platforms
CAD: For Newegg.ca platform

If no value is specified system will use default currency “CAD” for Newegg.ca and “USD” for Newegg.com and Neweggbusiness.com.
MAP No Decimal Dictates the “minimum advertised price” for item.

Format: 10 digits allowed to the left of the decimal point and 2 digits to the right of the decimal point. Please do not use commas or dollar signs.

If the Selling Price is below the defined MAP, the website will ask customer to add item to shopping cart to see the item’s price.

If you want to remove MAP, input “0.00” or “0”.

If null, no change to current setting.
CheckoutMAP No String When Checkout MAP is marked as “True” AND the selling price is lower than MAP price then the selling price will not be displayed until the checkout process.

Available values: “True” or “False”
SellingPrice Yes Decimal The actual price at which the item is offered for sale.

Format: 10 digits allowed to the left of the decimal point and 2 digits to the right of the decimal point. Please do not use commas or dollar signs.
Shipping Yes String The shipping charge setting for item.

Available values: “Default” or “Free”

Shipping charge for “Default” setting is determined by seller’s shipping rate setting at Newegg Seller Portal > Manage Account > Shipping Settings.
Inventory Yes Integer The inventory quantity available for default warehouse location:

Newegg.com and Neweggbusiness.com platform default is USA warehouse

Newegg.ca platform default is CAN warehouse

Note: Newegg.com only, multiple warehouse(s) or Newegg Global program, please submit Inventory Update Feed to manage inventory.
LimitQuantity No Integer Limit quantity represents the maximum quantity this item can be purchased by a customer within a 48 hour time period.

NOTE:

  • Limit Quantity is an integer between 1 and 500.
  • If blank/null then it means “Don’t Update it”.
  • If you want to delete the existing Limit Quantity of the item, please put 0 in Limit Quantity Field.
ActivationMark No String Available values:

True: Activate item, the product will be listed for sale at Newegg website.
False: Deactivate item, the product will be hidden/offline, not for sale at Newegg website.

If Null, system will do nothing, no change to current item active/deactivate status.

Note:

If Newegg Seller account status is “Inactive”, all items will be offline.  To have option to “Active” item, the account status should be “Active”.  Please contact  datafeeds@newegg.com for details.

Newegg.com platform for Newegg global, please submit Update Price request feed to manage activation for global SKUs.
ImageUrl Yes String Image URL for this item’s product image.

Requirements:

URLs must be a direct link to actual image

Image format: *.JPG, *.JPEG, *.GIF

Minimum image dimension: 640 pixels width and 480 pixels height

Max size for each image is 10MB, if size exceeds 10MB, it will fail
IsPrimary No Boolean Specify one default image, if multiple images will be uploaded.
ConditionDetails No String Information related to the condition, not including New or Refurbished, of the product can be described here to help customer understanding the product.

Note: This information is only applicable for Newegg.com platform.
ImageUrl No String Image URL for USED item’s product image.

Requirements:

CountryOfOrigin No String Country of Origin is the country of manufacture/ production of your items.  Newegg only accept ISO standard three-letter codes for the various countries of the world.  For complete list, please refer to the following: International Country Guide
OverAge18Verification No String Used if the product contains graphics or adult content that is inappropriate for person under 18 years old. If not included/blank/null, the default is “No”

Available values: “Yes” or “No”
ChokingHazard No String Choking Hazard Warning Requirements for Children’s Toys and Games, you may select up to four of these six warnings.

You should never need to choose more than four warnings, as a warning that a product “contains” a small ball or marble should not apply simultaneously with the corresponding warning that a product “is” a small ball or marble.

Please refer to Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) for more information.

If not included/blank/null, the value will be blank.
LeadTime No Integer Max 14 business days. Estimated delivery time is calculated based on leading time. You must ship the order within this time for good “On-time Order Fulfillment Rate” performance. Default will be 2 days, if you leave it blank. 1~14 
ShippingTemplate No String Binding the Shipping setting by shipping template name. If you leave it blank, the bound template will not be updated.  An alphanumeric string. Maximum characters: 200.
SubCategoryProperty Yes Vary Section containing category-specific information such as properties. Reference the
